5 x 20 minutes for 4Learning

First broadcast on Channel 4 in 2001, this series for 11-14 year olds examines citizenship and human rights using a combination of drama, documentary and history. The dramas feature a group of five teenage friends who together confront issues such as homelessness, freedom of expression, leadership, bullying and discrimination. Real children get to have their own say on racism, environmentalism, representation, disability and social responsibilty in the documentary strand. Each programme is tied together by a celebrity presenter who relates the programme's theme to an episode in British history.
